Christian Yes But Why Catholic

St. Peter tells us, “Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope” (1 Pt. 3:15). Our hope, of course, is in Jesus Christ, and in the gift of salvation He offers us through His Holy Catholic Church.
Many Catholics are afraid of the idea of apologetics, feeling that while they know their Faith is true, they’re unable to do a very good job explaining why. The Church expects us to defend and explain our Catholic beliefs when necessary and so requires an adult understanding and experience of the Faith on our part. When we explain our Faith, St. Peter advises, “Do it with gentleness and reverence.”
